Paul counseled Timothy to "Preach the
Word; be prepared in season and out of
season; correct, rebuke and encourage —
with great patience and careful instruction."
(2 Timothy 4:2) So, to ensure the Word of
God rather than popular (or preacher's)
opinion is preached, you'll find
verse-by-verse expository preaching at
Hillcrest Baptist Church. Generally, I
preach through whole books of the Bible
because a preacher is required to preach
the whole will of God, not just the parts
that are easy, either for the preacher or
the congregation. But, you'll also find
that the messages are "light & lively",
making even the most difficult of passages
palatable. What good is a message if it
doesn't touch your heart and cause you to
desire a life change? I challenge you to
listen to a message or two, but before you
do, ask God what YOU need to glean from
the message. When He shows you a biblical
principle you need to incorporate into your
life, just do it!
